THROWBACK THURSDAY MOVIE NIGHT: Brother's Keeper

Movie Cover - Brothers Keeper

Join us for a bit of local history as we watch and remember “Brother’s Keeper” and the Ward Boys.

Late on the evening of April 5, 1991, a small, packed Madison County courtroom waited nervously as the jury was about to announce its verdict. The defendant, Delbert Ward of Munnsville, was accused of killing his brother, Bill, back in June in the bed they shared.

The documentary film “Brother’s Keeper” which follows the trial and the community response made them celebrities.

Taproom Christmas Gift Exchange

Kick off the week leading up to Christmas in our taproom. Bring a useful $5 gift (no woopie cushions please) to exchange. What’s useful? Maybe a candle or fancy soap or a small hand tool? Maybe a pair of gloves or a warm hat? Maybe a box of chocolates or a gift card to your favorite brewery? Maybe a dishtowel or batteries or a toilet bowl brush or a package of paper plates? Pretty much anything goes. We will then spin the wheel and start the trading - Trade with someone you don’t know well or someone prettier than you or someone older or younger. Trade with the person that has the gift you want. Make two other people trade. The fun is in the spin. Proposals of marriage optional.

As the evening fun starts winding down, we will sing The 12 Days of Christmas. You may get to act out a partridge in a pair tree, 6 geese a laying or even 12 drummers drumming. Kate reserves the right to be 5 golden rings!

LIVE MUSIC: Liz Fiddle and The Flagships

Sometimes a visit to the brewery yields the coolest things. This newly formed trio (Liz Fiddle, Jeff Ingersoll, and Al Krula) were recently enjoying pints of our KUNGFU, Bear Path Brown and Aran’s Red ales after a private party. An over the bar comment that those were our flagship beers evolved into the trio discussing names for the band. We are honored to welcome “Liz Fiddle and The Flagships” for one of their debut concerts on Sunday December 10th from 3-6 PM.

Just to be clear: While Kate may pick up a set of spoons to play along, she is not a member of the band!
