“We believe that beers are best when they are brewed as close as possible to the land where the ingredients grow and reflect the character of the community in which they are brewed. It is this idea of “place-based brewing” that inspires every beer we brew.”

FLAGSHIP BEERS - These are the FOUR beers that got us started!

KUNGFU Honey Blonde - 6.2% ABV 19 IBU 4.2 SRM
Our very first beer with her very own story to tell. She's a little blonde, a little sweet with a kick that will knock you off your feet. Features honey from Johnston's Honey Bee Farm in West Eaton, NY, our Perle and Cascade hops, and NYS pale and Vienna malt. KUNGFU is 100% NY grown and brewed.

Aran's Red - 5% ABV 23 IBU 12.7 SRM
We wanted to make a tribute beer in honor of Aran, our red and white pinto reindeer, Aran? Red? It had to be an Irish red ale. Base malt from Mosher Farms in Bouckville is flavor and color enriched with NY caramel malt and roasted barley. Our Willamette hops (100%) provide just the right balance between bitter and sweet. An easy-drinking red in the Irish style.

Bear Path Brown - 4.8% ABV 31 IBU
A full-bodied American brown ale with deep cocoa and coffee flavors. Chocolate malt and Willamette hops for bitterness have led this favorite to be nicknamed "Hop Cocoa". Now made with 100% NYS malt and of course, 100% our hops.

For Pete's Sake - 4.7 ABV 41 IBU 10.9 SRM
Based loosely upon a homebrew recipe by craft brewing pioneer, Pete Slosberg, this is our version of an English Special Bitter - ie. English pale ale. NY pale malt from Mosher Farms with NYS caramel and chocolate malts for color and flavor. Our Brewer's Gold and Cascade hops. We only brewed this beer once so far, but it will be making it’s way back into rotation when we expand the tapline.

YEAR ROUND FAVORITES - On draft most of the time.

Charlie Brown - 4.8% ABV 31 IBU
When conversation over the tasting counter turned to peanut butter beers, we thought it would be sweet as a variation of our Bear Path Brown Ale. After several attempts to find the right way to infuse peanut butter flavor into a beer, we arrived at the recipe for Charlie Brown, usually on draft, but sometimes mixed to your taste at the tap.

C&W Homestead Pale Ale - 5.5% ABV 33 IBU 11 SRM
Kate's family has owned C&W Homestead, a farm on the East Hill, for nearly 100 years and named by her brother Bob after her grandfather and father (Owen Cunningham and George Wagner). This American pale ale uses our Cascade and Willamette hops (also C&W) and is a brew that we think her dad and brother would enjoy. NY pale malt and lots of rich sweet caramel malt from NY Craft Malt. Brewed with love for family and friends.

Uncle Gus IPA - 6% ABV 49 IBU
You asked for an IPA! Meet Uncle Gus, our SMASH (single malt and single hop) IPA brewed with 100% NY pale malt and Galena hops. Multiple additions of Galena late in the boil impart both the expected IPA bitterness with subtle flavors of stone fruit. If you are looking for something between a hoppy West Coast IPA and a sweet fruity New England IPA - GUS is it! Where did it get its name? Well, let’s just say the conversation included Ulysses S Grant, Galena, and Uncle Sam.

Uncle Max IPA - 5.6% ABV 50 IBU
Uncle Max is the second in our lineup of “non-existent uncle” SMASH IPA’s. Brewed with 100% NY pale malt, several late additions of NY grown Mackinac hops, and fermented with Kveik yeast, the result is a slightly hazy golden beer with flavor and aroma of melon and tropical fruit. An UN-Complicated Little Experiment (UNCLE). As quick to become a Farmily favorite as it was to ferment.

SEASONAL and ROTATING BEERS

Fort Fenner Centennial Black IPA - 7.0% ABV 59 IBU
Fort Fenner was brewed for our good friend Rick who grows Centennial hops for us in Fenner, NY. Rick calls his cordwood house on the hilltop “Fort Fenner”. His black lager homebrew was delicious and we wanted to create something similar that exclusively featured his hops. Dark roasted barley and black midnight wheat malt give this beer its signature onyx color. Lots of malt character balances the hops for a rich, slightly smoky flavor profile that while still an IPA, is not hop-centric.

Stargate Kolsch Style -
Our summer ale is in the German Kolsch style - dry, crisp, light, and great in a shandy with our ginger hop lemonade. Brewed with a “WAVE” of wheat, amber, Vienna, and Excelsior pilsner malt, Cascade hops for bittering and finished with our exclusive “Clark” heritage hops which were found in a neighbor’s lilac bush just up the hill, Stargate is a perfect gateway to craft beer appreciation.

Summit Springs English Strong Ale - 6.5% ABV 33 IBU 11 SRM
Our unintentional #mashup of C&W and Aran’s Red has become a customer favorite. Amber, sweet, a bit cloudy, with a pretty intense alcohol punch, Summit Springs was named in honor of the farm owned by Kate’s dad and her maternal grandfather - two of the strong men in her life. Someday maybe she’ll name a beer for Larry!

Stocktoberfest -
As the name implies, you will find us drinking this Marzen style beer in the early fall while sporting our dirndl and lederhosen. Our only lager beer, Stocktoberfest is made with NYS Pilsner, Munich, and Synergy malts with touches of aromatic and biscuit malt for flavor and mouthfeel. Sterling and Clark heritage hops are locally grown but have old world character. We can’t wait to try this each October.

Rising Souls -
Each year we celebrate the opening of our brewery on November 2 with the launch of our annual pumpkin ale. The name “Rising Souls” refers both to the Day of the Dead (All Souls Day) and to the pumpkins which rise from our garden to become the soul of this beer. More pumpkin, less spice - refreshingly different.

Rudy Bourbon Barrel Aged Red - ABV 9+ 30 IBU
Our holiday / winter beer is a version of our Aran’s Red Irish Red Ale aged in bourbon barrels from Old Home Distillers. Depending on barrel selection, Rudy may find its way into a barrel used to flavor maple syrup in which case it takes on maple flavor with bourbon undertones. Rudy is conditioned for at least 5 months in a freshly emptied bourbon barrel and one taste will tell you why it was named for the red-nosed reindeer.

Iron Horse Porter - ABV 5
English porter style - dark, rich, only slightly hoppy and named for the 19th century steam engines (Iron Horses) that traveled the hillside beyond the hopyard, porting hops, goods and people through the Stockbridge Valley. We sometimes reserve a quarter keg or two for barrel conditioning.

Pratts Hollow Heritage IPA - 6% ABV 52 IBU
Initially brewed for the NYS Brewers Association Ingredient Showcase, Pratts Hollow Heritage is brewed exclusively with heritage hops found in the nearby village of Pratts Hollow, the geographic center of New York State. A friend collected these historic 100-year-old hops from the hedgerow behind his home, divided the roots and planted them on his farm. Each year the hand-picked hops come to us for processing. Flavors typical of old English varieties come through when added late in the boil.

Grizzly Chautauqua Dark Brown Porter - 5.4% ABV
Sometimes a mistake makes something truly incredible. When Kate confused the Chautauqua chocolate and Chautauqua dark malt, our brown ale became darker, drier and just slightly more bitter - think the difference between semi-sweet and dark chocolate. Another customer favorite.

Black Irish Temper Dry Irish Stout - 4% ABV
We begin by adding salts to mimic the water profile of Dublin, Ireland and then use select New York malts including roasted barley and midnight wheat malt with a low temperature mash and stepped fermentation to achieve a rich dry Guinness style stout. When served on nitro, it is like drinking silk.

ROTATING GLUTEN FREE BEERS and NON-ALCOHOLIC OFFERINGS

BeeFree Apple Honey GF Pale Ale
GLUTEN FREE - Yes, Gluten Free! We added Johnston's honey and filtered cider from our daughter's apple orchard - pressed on our farm - to a sorghum syrup base to create this GF pale ale. Spanish orange peel with multiple additions of Cascade hops results in a hoppy fruity citrus quencher. Every time we brew this it comes out a little different.

Running Free GF Maple Mild - 3.6 ABV
GLUTEN FREE - Our spring GF release. Running beers were the fresh compliment to the aged British porter and were later called "mild". We could not achieve the dark color common to even a pale mild, but we think this twist on both words and style is sweet. Earthy Fuggle hops and British ale yeast along with local maple syrup in our second gluten free sorghum based beer - sometimes served with a cinnamon/graham twist.

Ollie Ollie Gluten Free
GLUTEN FREE - We mash together apples, peaches, and pumpkins with just a hint of cinnamon and spice for this sorghum based beer that is crisp as a fall day. “Apples, peaches, pumpkin pie - whose not ready, holler I.”

Sweet Summer Freedom - 3.4% ABV
GLUTEN FREE - Our summer GF release. This limited-release blonde ale is fermented on strawberries and rhubarb as our means of achieving a 60% New York ingredient GF summer ale.

Philadelphia Freedom - 3.4% ABV
GLUTEN FREE - A light, slightly tart, and fruity blueberry ale made with lots and lots (and lots more) Madison County grown blueberries. Seasonal limited release is gluten-free with a sorghum base.

Freedom Come, Freedom Go
GLUTEN FREE - When the garden produced an abundance of cucumbers and the grocery had a sale on mangos, we were motivated to make a cucumber mango ale. NY grown Mackinac hops and quick fermenting Kveik yeast contribute even more fresh and tropical flavors.

Sodas and Other N/A Beverages
Old Fashioned Ginger Hop Lemonade

GLUTEN AND ALCOHOL FREE: On draft so lightly carbonated. When we first started growing hops and Kate didn’t drink, she formulated this non-alcoholic refresher in homage to the drink prepared by hop grower’s wives in the 19th century. It makes a great mixer for distilled spirits, a base for our specialty drinks, and a tasty shandy.

Our cooler holds a wide selection of canned sodas and juices.

When available, our soda tap may be pouring our cream soda (think vanilla), root beer, or sarsaparilla (hints of black cherry and licorice).
